A major media analytics company approached Apollo Matrix to work on a comprehensive TV viewer research program.
The publicly traded company developed a viewer research tool to analyze who is watching what on TV. Our client provides the participants with a “listening” device that gathers data on which programs the participants are watching. The device is an Android tablet that remains next to the participant’s television for the duration of the study. This stationary listening device features a separate application designed and built by Apollo that allows participants to “check-in” and “check-out” the viewers present in the room. Users can register their family, frequent guests, and temporary guests through the app and the app pings the user at 30-minute intervals to confirm the number and identity of viewers in the room. Participants are also able to download the app onto their personal devices through a company-provided login. These features allow the media company to collect the most accurate viewer data.
